Previous articles examined measles and pertussis vaccination.]
Each year, U.S. public health officials and their media partners renew the campaign to sell the entire country (including pregnant women, six-month-olds and fragile senior citizens) on the need for and benefits of flu vaccines.
Ordinarily, to persuade the public that a given vaccine is beneficial, officials must show that it is effective—in other words, that it is able to “prevent outcomes of interest in the ‘real world.’

Vitamin C at about 1,000 mg. administered before or after the appearance of cold and flu symptoms relieved and prevented the symptoms in the test population compared with the control group, according to research posted by NIH PubMed website. That is quite an old study, but I still come across articles that say vitamin C is not effective in treating a cold. And of course, those same articles recommend we all get the flu shot. Sigh!

It's sad but true: probably 75% of the public believe that their doctor sits at the right hand of God and has all the answers, all the cures. And they dismiss, if they hear about it at all, the fact that prescription drugs, taken according to doctors' directions, are the third leading cause of death in the USA.
