    Default My March 16, 2020 A1c

Just a brief personal note, but I am so excited that I had to share it. I had my six month diabetes checkup three days ago. My A-1 C has varied from 5.1 to 5.6. I've been working extra hard to lower it, and Monday's result was 4.6. I repeat: 4.6!

This level is actually below what's considered by any standard to be diabetes. Theoretically, I'm no longer diabetic. But keep in mind that diabetes is like alcoholism. It's a lifelong condition, and if I relax the prohibition I set for myself on sugar and grains, that could quickly rise — so all things considered, I intend to keep it stable.

Congrats!!! The mercola forum member "Krofter" has said he was/is in a similar situation, and if he consumes ANY carbs, he gets similar, (as well as different) symptoms such as yourself.

This is a most commendable result, Islander! Congratulations! And of course, you must continue to engage the rigorous dietary regime so that you will live forever. I am depending upon that.

I'm afraid I have no idea what symptoms you're referring to. T2 DM has no "symptoms" and nor do I. My only index is the A1c, and my doctor has such faith in me that instead of a 90-day checkup, he's moved me to a six-month appointment.

You have every right to be excited. This is truly extraordinary!! According to one A1c/glucose chart, an A1c of 4.6 puts your "average" daily blood sugar level between 83 and 85 mg/dl "daily" over the past several months. Very impressive!! When I grow up, I want to be just like you. Lol. Congrats.

My dear friends, you make me laugh. I snorted so loud I scared the cats! I definitely do not intend to live forever, but who knows, I may surprise myself!

I recall him simply stating on the Mercola forum, on more than one occasion and in so many words, that consuming carbs made him feel sluggish or off-beat in some way or another.

Based on statistics coming out of China and Italy, elderly people with very high blood sugar have a greater likelihood of fatality after contracting the coronavirus. Apparently, high blood sugar compromises the immune system, creating a friendly environment for the virus. What peace of mind, comfort you must enjoy knowing that your most recent A1c was 4.6.

Even more so, after reading that observation!
