Default Retracted Studies May Have Damaged Public Trust In Science

Public trust in science may have been shaken by the publication of academic papers based on false data in leading medical journals, according to world-renowned infectious disease doctors and former advisers to the World Health Organization.
The director of Australia’s Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, Professor Sharon Lewin, said she and her colleagues were “gobsmacked” by the saga and said it should be “a wake-up call” in a global rush to publish studies about Covid-19.

Well, of course bogus studies will erode people's (some people's, anyway) confidence in the world's scientific leadership. It's a logical consequence of the dishonesty. You've got to wonder if some of the so-called studies discrediting hydroxychloroquine have to do with the fact that BigPharma doesn't stand to make tons of money from it.

Sadly, it seems a lot of decisions were made on the basis of this study, whose very foundations--the data--were fraudulent.

Actually, I've read evidence that in higher doses, hydroxychloroquine frequently leads to fatal heart conditions.

I've read that too. Tom Hank's wife, who was hospitalised in Oz, said she had heart problems after being treated with hydroxychloroquine.
