Default Smothering the Fire: How Vitamin C Can Stop Viral Infections Quickly

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(OMNS May 28, 2020) "Smothering the fire"? Do you remember the old forest fire fighting movies? Someone in a fire tower spots smoke and a plane load of fire jumpers go out and puts the fire out before it really gets going. Then occasionally, the fire gets too well established before the jumpers can get there and it turns into a major operation that lasts for weeks. In the end a good rainstorm from Mother Nature finally puts the fire out. This is a good metaphor for what vitamin C can do for viral infections.

In this article I'll present the fire jumping/smothering technique applied to viral infections. However, the jumpers are vitamin C, and the fire controller is you. If your vitamin C jumpers get to the viral fire quickly, it can be snuffed out and the incident is soon forgotten. However, if you're slow to react to the problem the infection can rage for a week or more.

Great article. Vitamin C also reduces glucose that fuels viral infections. One reason most COVID patients with Type 2 diabetes experience more severe complications is due to glucose dysregulation. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) has been proven to reduce glucose levels by competing for the same transporters that carry glucose into cells. So, vit. C supplementation can snuff out and/or make viral infections less severe by reducing glucose that drives viral infections. Keep reading here:

Thanks for the link, Mr. Wizard. That was interesting. I think it's an awfully small dose, however, but then again, they are basing it on the FDA's recommendation of something like 80 mg a day... Which is what, a glass of orange juice? Vitamin C is harmless for most in significantly larger doses, cheap and effective, and more practical than any treatment I can think of for type two diabetes.

Great article, Islander. Thanks. A question for you, Mr. Wiz, and anybody else who might know: Is there a way to turn ascorbic acid into sodium ascorbate? Maybe with bicarbonate of soda? I ask because we're running low on the sodium ascorbate that traveling friends bring from the US, and our friends aren't traveling at the moment or any time soon. We can't find it here, but we can find ascorbic acid in powder form.

Here are two demonstration videos, one of who you are already probably familiar with, "Forbidden Healing", aka Capt Randall.

Pattypan: Yes, adding a little sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to ascorbic acid will produce sodium ascorbate. Grulla, I forgot about Capt. Randall, a fervent advocate of sodium ascorbate.

It was also Capt Randall/fh that put me on to the Dr Thomas Levy 75 minute video lecture, "Death by Calcium".
