Default Autopsies Reveal Surprising Cardiac Changes In Covid-19 Patients

Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center
    July 21 2020

A series of autopsies conducted by LSU Health New Orleans pathologists shows the damage to the hearts of COVID-19 patients is not the expected typical inflammation of the heart muscle associated with myocarditis, but rather a unique pattern of cell death in scattered individual heart muscle cells. They report the findings of a detailed study of hearts from 22 deaths confirmed due to COVID-19 in a Research Letter published in Circulation, available here.

So much we still don't know. Note that the subjects of these autopsies all had comorbidities, which shouldn't be entirely ruled out as contributing factors, I should think.

Interesting that autopsies did not find COVID virus in the heart cells, but theorized COVID lung infection may have over stressed the heart causing the damage. I've studied heart health for decades, as heart problems run in my family. CoQ10, Omega-3 fish oil, vitamin E, and magnesium are 4 "key" nutrients needed for a healthy heart. 1. Coenzyme Q10, or CoQ10, (reduces oxidative stress and lowers blood pressure); 2. Omega-3 fish oils (reduces inflammation); 3. vitamin E - both tocopherols & tocotrienols (reduce cholesterol, decrease inflammation, and increase integrity of vascular blood vessels---tocopherols decrease the activity of tocotrienols, so don't take both at same time); 4. magnesium (improves heart rhythm, lowers blood pressure and improves heart blood vessels.
