A while back I read about shaking garlic cloves in a jar to remove the peels. I tried that with a single clove and it did not work well for me. But this website link says to put MANY cloves in the shaking jar, so I'll give it another "whirl". If one does a ducksearch, <peeling garlic> , there are lots of websites about that. Here is the website about shaking MANY garlic cloves in a jar: https://www.rd.com/article/how-to-peel-garlic/

Grulla, something's very wrong there. Can you describe what happens when you click on Julieanne's twitter link? What do "stubborn" and "ornery" mean? I actually donate periodically to the Guardian because it is one of the few legacy media that doesn't paywall or otherwise mess with the viewer.

I was in the wrong thread "Islander." I should have replied on the Syrian wheat thread. Transfer over.

grulla, I'm sure it's been mentioned before, but crushing a clove with the flat of a knife makes it very easy to peel.

Makes sense to me, I'll give it a whirl, after snipping off the ends.

This morning preparing my breakfast skillet, after snipping off the ends of the garlic clove, pressing it with a broad kitchen knife worked great in breaking loose the skin. Why didn't I think of that, lol, thanks Julieanne
