In the first few months after the arrival of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus here in the U.S., as I'm sure you're painfully aware, certain common household supplies became nearly impossible to find, for example, toilet paper. However, now that most of the original hot items are thankfully once again available, it seems some people are using them not only inappropriately, but in ways that can be dangerous for their pets. It's a testament to the effect of mass advertising that so many common household cleaning products are in use, when there are multiple cheaper and safer alternatives, for example, plain white vinegar, and dry baking soda on chrome. But further, people are apt to lose all common sense in their panic to clean and sanitize everything. In fact, evidence now shows that the coronavirus is not transmitted by objects, and cleaning and sanitizing everything in sight is essentially useless. The virus is transmitted by airborne droplets and the best protection is masks for everyone.
Further, some researchers are raising the alarm about quaternary ammonium compounds, or quats, that are commonly found in the disinfectants, hand sanitizers, and sanitizing wipes being used by households and businesses to protect against the COVID-19 virus. Quats are being linked with fertility problems as well as other endocrine disrupting effects. We must demand that these chemicals be pulled from the market so they can be studied properly for safety. I'm about to post this action item on the forum, but I thrust it in here because it was pertinent.

Yep. I observed a neighbor using hand sanitizer on her dog's paws, and figured that couldn't be right. Sent me looking for this.

Thanks for this article. Thankfully, I only live alone with my dog so I don't practice too much sanitizing to the extent that I those chemicals everywhere in my room...
