    Ginger is a something you’ve probably walked past a thousand times in the grocery store and probably passed up. It has some incredible medicinal benefits and offers people a natural approach to many ailments. Many women use ginger for morning sickness during pregnancy. Sometimes you see it crystallized with sugar to improve flavor. But today I’m not talking about the candied version, I’m referring to fresh ginger root, or powdered form, which you can buy in any supermarket.

    I really really like the taste of ginger, as in fresh ginger root. I always have it on hand and use it in practically every stirfry, as well as in any other dish that it might improve. I've found that I can freeze a clump of ginger root, take it from the freezer, grate it or slice it while still frozen, and return it to the freezer. I've tried keeping the fresh root in the crisper but if I don't use it for a period of time it's apt to spoil, whereas frozen, it keeps just fine and doesn't need to be thawed prior to use. I also enjoy grated ginger added to a cup of hot tea.

    Islander: Thanks for fixing the link. Sometimes I get it right and sometimes.....well...gremlins take over. I love ginger root too. And, it's great to learn it has so many beneficial properties.

    Well, sometimes I mess it up before I can fix it but then I saw where it had gone wrong. BTW, when you first post an item there is a little box in the band of tools above the window where you can add a link or disqualify a link (two tiny globes, one with a red X). Might be useful next time you encounter issues with posting a link.

    Thanks for the tip. I just encountered another problem. But, I'll go back and try to fix it using your suggestion.
