    Default Homemade Oven Cleaner

Keeping your oven clean is very important because burnt, baked-on food can release carcinogens as it continues to burn. Off-the-shelf oven cleaners contain a lot of toxins and if it comes in contact with your skin, you could suffer, since it can eat through your skin. Natural oven cleaning products and green cleaning products can help, but a little baking soda and vinegar may be all you need for a homemade oven cleaner. Still not convinced? Let's dig into the "why" a little bit.

Every time I try to access a Dr. Axe website, I get this: 404 Not Found

grulla: Sorry the link didn't work for you. I've replaced the link above by going directly to the website and copying the link to the article. The new link should work. If not, try going directly to -- www.draxe.com -- and entering "homemade oven cleaner" in the search box at top of page.

Thanks for the link "MrWiz", but I still get the same 404 results, and it's been doing that to me for very long time when trying to access ANY Dr. Axe website???

Link works fine for me. Grulla, are you doing anything different other than simply clicking on the link from this page?

No, never??? Since this Dr. Axe matter has been such an isolated problem, I never previously thought to research the 404 error issue. So I did a quick search, and I probably need the call my ISP satellite company about this. Now the more I think about it, I MIGHT have experienced a similar (ROUTING) issue in the past, trying to contact a friend via email.

Time to try this. BTW, I have organic apple cider vinegar, but for cleaning purposes, plain white vinegar will do. I don't think my floors or my oven will complain if they aren't scrubbed with authentic organic vinegar… Do you?

Well, there's a chance your oven may not like any old "white vinegar." Dr. Axe is recommending "organic white vinegar" because some white vinegars are made from petroleum and natural gas. Read the label. If it does not cite ingredients as "grains (corn, barley, etc.) or fruit based, then there's a good chance your white vinegar is a derivative of petroleum or natural gas. Some companies, like Heinz, have vowed not to use petroleum in production of their white vinegar. For more details, I've posted an article entitled "What is Vinegar Made Of? in the "Nutrition Forum."
