    Default Annual Begging Letter

Yes friends, members and guests, it's that time of year again — the time when you thank me for keeping Hawkes' Health free of advertising. Your annual gift makes this possible. What it costs to keep the site ad-free and trouble-free:

Hosting fees and domain name: $225
    Security certificate (https): $133
    Total annual operating expenses: $358

It's so easy to donate: just tap the yellow PAYPAL button. When you consider the amount, please stop and think of the good health and well-being that you derive from coming here... And then give as generously as you can. (if you don't have a PayPal account, message me for a postal address where you can send a check).

(Note: that amount barely covers the cost of doing business. I am not reimbursed for my administration time, of course, nor is Julieanne reimbursed for moderating. We are unpaid lackeys, just happy to keep this ship afloat with smooth sailing! And a tip of the hat to our host Daniel Portelli at CyberLabs in Malta, who keeps us steadily on course)!

Thank you, everyone, for your kind support. Wishing you all the best the holiday season can bring!

I'm wondering if maybe some of you didn't see this the first time around, so I'm bumping it.
Do you notice anything missing here?
That's right. There are no ads. I decided early on that advertising was disruptive and distracting, and if we could survive on donations, I would host no ads.
That has worked for 13 years. For 13 years, your donations have kept this site alive and thriving.
But the truth is that I can't do it alone.
I'm on a fixed income, Social Security. If I told you how small it was you'd laugh, you wouldn't believe me.
But with your help, every year we get it done, don't we? Because I'm still here and we are still posting!
What's more, we are scheduled for an upgrade.
But I'll say it one more time: I can't do this alone.
I won't let the site die. I'll simply open it to advertising.
I really don't want to do this; it's a last resort.

    Thanks for listening, folks.

Thanks for the reminder. I actually did forget. In the mail today.
