German Health Body Advises Against Astrazeneca Shot In People Over 65

Germany’s vaccination advisory committee, which provides recommendations to the government, is cautioning against using the AstraZeneca shot on adults age 65 and above, saying in a draft report released on Thursday that “there currently is not sufficient data to assess the vaccination effectiveness above 65 years.”

All of the vaccines to date have been given emergency authorization. The reason? Testing and trials are far from complete. There's a great deal we still don't know about the efficacy of these vaccines, and this is why they have not yet been formally approved for use by the FDA. There's a lot of misinformation, and even disinformation, on social media, which is why I strongly encourage you to take anything you see on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with a large tablespoonful of salt.
