    Taking a colloidal oatmeal bath for eczema relief can help reduce itching. This specially manufactured oatmeal is generally available at stores selling health and beauty products.
    Humans have used oatmeal to treat the skin since the days of Ancient Rome. In the 20th century, people began to use oatmeal widely in skincare products, and manufacturers developed colloidal oatmeal.

    Colloidal oatmeal contains a concentration of the starch protein found in oats, and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved it for the relief of itchy skin in 2003.
    The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) suggests that colloidal oatmeal may benefit people with eczema.

    I remember my mother using colloidal oatmeal baths for me once in a while. Maybe for heat rash? I'm not sure, but it was definitely skin-related. It's kind of funny that the FDA felt they had to approve it finally in 2003!
