    It’s said that there are over 100 different types of bread around the globe, some predating modern society. But what are the healthiest types of bread?

    Homemade bread? Bakery fresh bread? Store-bought bread? The source of the bread is almost as important as the type of bread itself when it comes to health. Certain bread types are made from refined grains and offer little nutrition while others are high in vitamins, minerals and fiber. Here are the seven healthiest types of bread available.

    So much depends on what specific types of additives (dough conditioners etc.) are added to the flour. Keep in mind that bread is made of flour, water and yeast. Reading the ingredients on a typical loaf of supermarket bread might take you several minutes; often they fill a paragraph. The bread used for sandwiches in the Subway franchise is so high in sugar that it cannot be classified as bread in the European Union. Further, many people who cannot consume bread made in the USA because of powerful allergic reactions, can enjoy bread in any other part of the world.
