I use Natural Calm (magnesium citrate that turns into an ionic form) by Natural Vitality. It's a fizzy powder you mix with hot water and drink like a tea. If you do it before bedtime it helps most people sleep better. You dose to bowel tolerance.

Pattypans, we had a great discussion on various magnesium supplements back in July.

Reesacat, it turns out we had 2 little packets of Natural Calm (came as freebies in an i-herb order of sodium ascorbate that someone brought down for us from the U.S., I think). I tried them, but it doesn't seem you can tell with just two packets. I haven't had a chance to check out the thread yet, but I will. Thanks again.

By the way, I had my second chiropractor visit yesterday and I'm very pleased. After the first one, I was pain-free for two days. I had some pretty bad pain a few other days, but some things that had been causing pain before, didn't anymore. It's a process. I'm thrilled I found chiropractic, and can't believe I didn't think of trying it before, instead of putting up with all that pain for so long!

So happy for you, Pattypans! And it sounds like you and chiropractor are treating the CAUSE of the pain, not just masking it with medication. Happy Dance!
If you do have a magnesium deficiency it will take a few weeks to correct, I would think.
(People often do feel better with the first 2-5 doses of magnesium. I think it took me 4-5 days to really notice a difference.)
