    Default Kratom

Has anyone heard of kratom. It comes from a tree in Asia and may have some health benefits with few side effects if taken properly.

I have not used kratom and do not know of anyone who has, so I can't help you with this.

I've seen ads for it on Facebook. Ads always never interest me. If there is value to a substance, I prefer to hear about it via actual studies — not marketing hype or testimonials.

Translation: if you did a site search here and didn't find it...and search engines returned no credible results...it's probably not worth your time. My cupboard is already full of supps that I KNOW have value.

I guess it would depend on the reasons you want to use it.

A quick perusal of info about it gives some conflicting answers, but it sounds like it can be used for pain, for relaxation, or for stimulation/energy, depending on the dosage. It seems to be related to opioids, but without many of their drawbacks.

I think it sounds interesting, and i might look into seeing if i could find some at the health food store to have for occasional use for pain, and after some checking of its effect in me (everyone responds to things a little differently, and i do seem to respond to things very strongly) to possibly use on occasion if i couldn't sleep or was very anxious. From my reading, i think this is something i would hold for occasional use.

Do you have any experience with it?

I have no experience with it nor do I know anyone who has. At current, my main problems are spasticity and pain so I'm always on the lookout for anything that would help with that. Kratom probably would not help improve my coordination or proprioception.

Tried my health food store today. They apparently do not have it.

    Will have to look online.

There's another brief thread here on HH on kratom: http://www.hawkeshealth.net/communit...ghlight=kratom
That's an interesting turn of phrase, Islander--"always never".

Islander, I caught that, but still couldn't pass on the opportunity for a bit of ribbing.
